A long and successful history for this horse and stocky mountain rustic who lived in this beautiful Vercors massif since time immemorial. Farmers in the Vercors and neighboring departments used these horses small and light to the bay or black dress, very tough and frugal.

In the late nineteenth peasants in the region opted for big horses who need different conditions and this led farmers to leave the mountain. But a farmer resisted and decided to réinstallerr this breed of horses in the mountains of Vercors. Gradually a herd of horses homogeneous honored by the quality of the family farmer. The Second World War was a tragedy for the Vercors and place of resistance for the flock to a man who had given life.

There are very few horses that Vercors lovers trying to save.
